Iowa-Built Innovation: How ECHO EQPT Keeps Operators Moving

At Forge Attachments, we’re proud to work with some of the most innovative and customer-focused manufacturers in the attachment industry, and ECHO EQPT is a perfect example.

Co-owners Randy Larson and Justin Helmers were both born and raised in northeast Iowa and have been running small businesses together for over 20 years. Justin and Randy know what it’s like to be on the customer’s side and they’ve built ECHO EQPT around treating every customer like the most important part of the transaction.

Where It All Started

ECHO EQPT first made its mark in the industry with the Skid Steer Tire Grabber, a simple but game-changing attachment for safely handling heavy tires. Their original model featured a single hydraulic cylinder to move one arm, capable of gripping 68″–88″ tires, including weighted tires and duals.

But Echo didn’t stop there. Listening to customer feedback and real-world operator needs, they evolved the design into the Tire Grabber X3 – featuring three hydraulic cylinders and three independent moving arms to handle tires ranging from 46″ to 110″. It’s become the go-to tool for removing large ag and construction tires, especially on combines, sprayers, and other heavy equipment.

Expanding the Lineup

After seeing major success with their tire grabber lineup, Echo turned their attention to another common problem on the farm, getting more use out of semi tractors during the off-season.

Their solution? The ECHO EQPT Semi-Trailer Conversion Kit called the ECHO SS Super Skid. These kits convert standard semi tractors into tandem tender trucks in as little as 20–40 minutes, allowing operators to pull seed tenders, nurse trailers, or utility trailers with ease. Each kit is custom-built to fit your specific truck frame, no cutting, welding, or modification required. Every bed includes dual ladders, rub rails, and heavy-duty receiver hitches with RV plugs as standard.

It’s a practical, efficient way to get more value out of your equipment, something Echo’s customers appreciate across the Midwest and beyond.

Continual Innovation

ECHO EQPT continues to expand its lineup with new, purpose-built attachments designed for performance and durability. The ECHO EQPT PG3 Power Grader is a prime example — a rugged grading attachment built for both mini skid steers and full-size skid steers.

It’s designed to grade rock or dirt with ease, while the carbide-toothed power drum pulverizes compacted material for a smooth finish. Two forward-facing cutting edges provide precise control during passes, and the AR400 landscape rake edge allows operators to back-drag effectively for final surface work.

Every Power Grader is built with commercial-grade construction for long-term reliability, featuring adjustable mount plate height and AR400 depth-control skids for consistent results. It even includes bucket carrier hooks to make transport and handling simple and efficient.

Summary

Whether it’s attachments for tire handling, grading, or semi conversion, ECHO EQPT keeps building tools that solve real-world problems for operators — tools designed by people who understand the work firsthand.

At Forge Attachments, we’re proud to work with American manufacturers like Echo who share our values of quality, innovation, and integrity.
